CORONASCARE: Biden And Sanders Both Cancel Ohio Rallies

(ConservativePeak.com) – The two remaining Democratic candidates with a shot of taking the party’s presidential nomination, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders, were forced this week to cancel campaign events in Ohio over ongoing coronavirus scares. The disease, which originated in Wuhan, China, continues spreading throughout the United States and the rest of the world.

Bernie Sanders, who recently drew crowds of 10,000 or more, was expected to hold an Ohio rally ahead of the March 17 rally. On Tuesday night, frontrunner Sleepy Joe Biden was expected to hold a similar rally – though likely much smaller in size than Bernie’s!

Mike Casca, Bernie Sanders’ campaign manager, released a statement saying all Bernie 2020 events will be “evaluated on a case by case basis.”

Washington D.C. CNN reporter Jessica Dean published a photograph to Twitter of an empty stage and bleachers, and a podium with a Biden campaign logo on the front.

The decision comes after President Donald Trump signed an $8.3 billion spending bill into law that provides significant resources to medical professionals and researchers trying to control the spread of the virus.

Despite the very real threat posed by the virus, the Democrats continue to attack the president and refuse to work on a bipartisan basis. On Tuesday morning, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer issued a statement in which he complained about the president’s “incompetence and lack of focus.”

Clearly everybody, including Democratic presidential hopefuls, is aware of the seriousness of this virus. The president is taking decisive action on the virus, implementing travel bans from some countries and even proposing the total elimination of payroll taxes to help businesses and workers survive during extended periods of self-isolation.
