Bill Barr Dismissed Trump As “Deposed King”

( The public feud between President Donald Trump and Attorney General William Barr is intensifying.

After the president went off on Barr over the weekend for not revealing details of the Hunter Biden investigation before the November presidential election, the attorney general fired back. He said they were attacks of a “deposed king ranting.” He said he “isn’t intimidated” by Trump, and said he was a “big disappointment” in the tax probe regarding Hunter Biden, the son of Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden.

Last Wednesday, it was revealed that the Department of Justice was investigating Hunter over his taxes and foreign business dealings. The DOJ had been doing so for a while, but didn’t make that probe public before the election took place.

On Saturday, Trump tweeted several times to attack Barr. He wrote:

“Why didn’t Bill Barr reveal the truth to the public, before the Election, about Hunter Biden. Joe was lying on the debate stage that nothing was wrong, or going on — Press confirmed. Big disadvantage for Republicans at the polls!”

In the second presidential debate, Joe insisted of Hunter’s dealings that:

“Not one single solitary thing was out of line. My son has not made money in terms of this thing about, what are you talking about, China.”

Trump further tweeted:

“IF Biden gets in, nothing will happen to Hunter or Joe. Barr will do nothing, and the new group of partisan killers coming in will quickly kill it all. Same thing with Durham. We caught them cold, spying, treason & more (the hard part), but ‘Justice’ took too long. Will be DOA!”

He also re-tweeted a message from radio host Todd Starnes that read:

“If the Wall Street Journal story is true and Attorney General Barr knew in the spring about the Biden investigation and kept it quiet — he should be fired by the end of business today.”

In 2018, the DOJ began an investigation into Hunter’s business dealings with foreign entities as well as his tax situation. While this information has become public, it’s unclear exactly which business dealings are under investigation.

The big problem with the fact that Barr didn’t reveal this information until now is that it could have changed voters’ minds before they went to the polls on Election Day. Miranda Devine, a columnist for the New York Post, tweeted exactly this, writing:

“10% of voters would have changed their vote if they knew about Hunter Biden.”

Now, it’s too late for that, and America will just have to live with whatever comes of the investigation — if anything.

The relationship between Barr and the president — which was once very close — has deteriorated in recent months. But this new revelation has taken it to a new level.

Still, for his part, a CNN source said Barr would only step down from his position if he became aware that the president was about to fire him. That source also labeled the relationship between the two as like “a Cold War.”
