DNC Lets Sanders And Biden SIT DOWN During Next Debate – Are They Too Unfit To Be President?

(ConservativePeak.com) – The Democratic National Committee not only went out of its way to ensure Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders aren’t made uncomfortable by the presence of Tulsi Gabbard in the next debate…but they’re also letting them sit down.

The DNC has changed the debate format to reduce the amount of standing either candidate needs to do. It comes as speculation grows about former Vice President Joe Biden’s cognitive and physical health.

On Friday, the DNC announced the change in format for the next debate, which will be held on March 15 in Arizona. Typically these live debates see candidates standing behind a podium, sometimes for hours at a time. However, Politico reports that the new format would allow the two aging candidates to appear sitting behind desks.

Maybe they want you to imagine them sitting behind the desk in the Oval Office!

Interestingly, though, Bernie Sanders hasn’t welcomed the new format at all. Sanders’ campaign team, during a call with CNN on Friday, requested that the usual standing format be maintained. The Sanders camp said they were giving Biden a break, but Biden’s team denied that they had encouraged the new format.

Jeff Weaver, the senior adviser to Bernie Sanders, asked, “Why does Joe Biden not want to stand toe-to-toe with Senator Sanders on the debate stage March 15 and have an opportunity to defend his record and articulate his vision for the future?”

Biden’s campaign said, “We will participate in whatever debate CNN chooses to stage: standing, sitting, at podiums, or in a town hall.”

“The problem for the Sanders campaign is not the staging of the debate, but rather, the weakness of Sen. Sanders’ record and ideas.”

Sanders might be a communist and an extremist, but even after suffering a heart attack during his campaign, he has continued appearing at rallies and standing for hours at debates. He doesn’t seem to be shying away from Joe Biden, who has come under increasing pressure to acknowledge is cognitive decline.

This would be the first-ever seated debate during the 2020 race.
