(ConservativePeak.com)- If you’ve been enraged at the sight of police officers kneeling in front of protesters, you’re not alone. Other police officers all over the country have been enraged, onlookers have ben shocked, and ow the Chicago police union boss has took a stand about the insanity of submitting to terrorists, arsonists, and violent extremists.
John Catanzara, the President of Chicago’s Fraternal Order of Police, said police officers should kneel on their own time, if that’s what they want to do.
Catanzara was asked about the sight of cops and chiefs kneeling, praying, and marching with protestors, and what he thinks about it, during an interview with Bob Sirott on WGN Radio.
“I’ve made it very clear to the members of Lodge seven that that has no place for our members,” he said. “That is contradicting to our constitution as a lodge. And it definitely deflates anything remotely associated with fraternalism. And as such, any member of Lodge seven who is going to take a knee and basically side with protesters while they’re in uniform will subject themselves to discipline in the lodge up to and including expulsion from Lodge seven.”
He reminded officers that what they do on their own time is their own business, but when they’re going it in uniform, they’re “representing the police department.”
Later on in the interview, Catanzara also said that the protesters were advocating policies that would hurt law enforcement, which is another reason why he considers it unacceptable for officers to side with the protesters while on the job.
“Specifically this weekend. This was about defunding and abolishing the police officers,” he said. “And you’re going to take a knee for that? It’s ridiculous.”
Mayor Lori Lightfoot, the disgraced mayor of Chicago who was snapped getting her hair cut at a salon earlier this year after telling residents to stay home, wasn’t happy with the news. She told the local media she “won’t dignify” Catanzara with a response.
That’s the same Mayor Lightfoot who swore at an Alderman last week when he addressed the ongoing violence in the city. She dismissed the violence in her city and the concerns of residents who expected the riots and violence to extend into the suburbs.
At least Chicago has one lone, sane voice in charge of the police union!
