Jimmy Kimmel LIES About VP Pence, Issues SNARKY Apology

(ConservativePeak.Com)- Late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel recently lied about Vice President Mike Pence, and when his lie was exposed, issued a snarky, nasty apology that shows you just what kind of a person he is.

On Thursday, Kimmel tore into Vice President Pence and claimed that a video that showed him delivering boxes of PPE to a rehabilitation center was simply an act. Kimmel alleged that Pence was carrying empty boxes to make himself look good in camera, saying it was a “perfect metaphor for who he is and what he’s doing.”

“A big box of nothing delivering another box of nothing,” he said.

The reality, however, was quite different. Kimmel received a huge backlash from people online who noted how he, or his production team, had purposely edited to the video to make it look like Pence had only carried empty boxes for the camera. In the edited clip, Pence can be heard joking that he would carry empty boxes “for the camera.”

Kimmel wasn’t the only one to tell the lie, either. Even left-wing fact-checkers were forced to admit that the video was edited, but that didn’t stop outlets like the New Civil Rights Movement and Occupy Democrats from sharing the video and telling the same lie.

You can see the clip below, in a tweet from Matt McDermott which falsely claims Pence was “delivering empty boxes of PPE for a PR stunt.”

In the full clip, the context is made clear, and Kimmel’s lie was exposed. That’s why he deleted the video.

Despite his claim being untrue, and despite his team having deceptively edited the video on purpose, Kimmel didn’t offer a graceful apology.

Instead, he took to Twitter to say, “it would appear that @vp was joking about carrying empty boxes for a staged publicity stunt. The full video reveals that he was carrying full boxes for a staged publicity stunt. My apologies. I know how dearly this administration values truth.”

So I guess no Democratic president or vice president has helped our during a crisis either, eh Jimmy?
