(ConservativePeak.com) – We all remember the fight between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz during the 2016 race to become the Republican presidential nominee, so we all know how tough the Texas senator can be.

Senator Cruz recently leveled criticism at Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, comparing the left-wing judge to an “arsonist.”

Cruz’s comments came after a 5-4 ruling in favor of President Donald Trump that effectively allowed him to implement his “public charge” immigration rule that bars new immigrants who are likely to access state benefits while living in the United States. The ruling granted the Trump administration’s request for an emergency stay of an injunction imposed by a lower court. Trump’s administration will now appeal the injunction.

Sotomayor voted against the president and directed her own criticism toward the five justices who voted to allow Trump to go ahead with his policy change. In a scathingly angry attack, Sotomayor said that judges were demonstrating “bias” for President Trump and were not upholding the Constitution.

“The Court’s recent behavior on stay applications has benefited one litigant over all others,” she said, clearly referring to the president.

“It is hard to say what is more troubling, that the Government would seek this extraordinary relief seemingly as a matter of course, or that the Court would grant it.”

Left-wing judges don’t like it when their colleagues vote in favor of allowing a democraticallyelected president to get on with the job the voters asked him to do!

Cruz, no stranger to the legal system himself, slammed her comments. The Harvard-educated constitutional lawyer said he’d read Sotomayor’s comments and compared it to “an arsonist complaining about the noise from the fire trucks.”

He’s right! Sotomayor, the Democratic establishment, and radical progressives have pushed policies that created a populist backlash. If they hadn’t advocated radical policies in the first place, such strong measures on immigration would not be necessary now. But they are.

“If you look to the facts of what’s happening with nationwide injunctions, I think it will explain why the Department of Justice has had to ask the Supreme Court to intervene over and over again,” Cruz said, according to Fox.

Cruz was referring to multiple injunctions imposed by left-wing lower court judges who have repeatedly attempted to stop President Trump implementing popular policies, including the famed “travel ban.”
